Brackley Town Mixed B finished off their season in style by beating a strong Marlborough C team 8-1 in their final game of the season. With there being forced changes to the team on Monday, Kaajal and Paula stepped up to play alongside Jess as the selected ladies. The now usual combination of Connor and Tom started the match well, taking their rubber 2-0 meaning they have not lost a rubber or set all season as a Mixed B pairing. Jess and Paula just fell short in their first games, losing 21-18 and 22-20. From there Brackley started to take hold of the match, with Connor and Henry continuing the mens good form for the season, winning 2-0 again. This time the ladies were able to match the result with Jess and Kaajal winning 21-11 and 21-17. This meant, that if Brackley could win the next two rubbers, the game would be secured. Both the Mens and Ladies pairs took their games to 3 sets, Tom and Henry lost their first, but then turned it around to win the next two to take the rubber. Paula and Kaajal won the first, but then lost the second and managed to squeeze home in the third 21-19. This relieved the pressure on the mixed pairs, which helped the team as all pairs won their rubbers 2-0. The overall match victory puts Brackley top of the league, with Deddington having a few games to play, so all will be watching the results roll in over the coming weeks with baited breath.
